Introduction
Lynx Financial Systems Pty Ltd (Lynx) is firmly committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of personal information. We maintain robust physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to protect personal information in our care. We are bound by the National Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) as well as other applicable laws and codes.

How do we collect personal information?
Lynx collects and holds personal information in circumstances where you wish to receive or have received services from us. We will collect this personal information from you for the purposes of:

  • providing you with the requested service or product;
  • assessing any application we receive by you in respect of a request to receive a service or product;
  • identifying you; and
  • managing and administering the services and products we provide you.

The information we collect may include your name, address, date of birth, tax file numbers, income particulars, assets and other financial information, health information, employment details and such other information that we consider necessary.

By providing certain services to you Lynx may be provided with your individual customer’s details in order for it to provide various back office functions.

Where possible, we will collect the personal information directly from you. In some circumstances however we may need to collect this information from a third party such as a credit reporting agency, legal or financial advisor or other relevant third parties.

How we use personal information
We use personal information provided by you to provide you with requested services and products. Lynx may use the information for related purposes, such as:

  • identification of fraud and error;
  • regulatory reporting and compliance;
  • internal accounting and administration;
  • providing you with information about other products or services; and
  • servicing our relationship with you.

Is the information disclosed to third parties?
We may disclose information about you as permitted by law. We may share information with regulatory bodies and law enforcement officials, provide information to protect against fraud and share information with your consent. From time to time, we enter into agreements with other companies to provide services to us or make products and services available to you. Under these agreements, the companies may receive personal information, but they must safeguard this information and may not use it for any other purposes.

Lynx has implemented appropriate physical, electronic and managerial security procedures in order to protect personally identifiable information from loss, misuse, alteration or destruction. Only authorised Lynx personnel are provided access to personally identifiable information in order to perform their roles and these employees have agreed to ensure the confidentiality of this information. Lynx regularly reviews security and encryption technologies and will strive to protect information to the fullest extent possible.

Keeping your personal information accurate and up-to-date
We will take reasonable steps to ensure that your personal information is accurate, complete and up-to-date. If you become aware that your personal information is not accurate, complete and up-to-date, you must immediately contact us. Where we collect and store information about your individual customers, we are dependent on you providing to us accurate information and updated records regarding that individual customer.

Our site may contain links to other sites. Lynx is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such web sites. We encourage you to read the privacy statements of any linked sites as their privacy policy may differ from ours.  

Gaining Access to your Personal Information
Subject to certain exemptions, you may gain access to your personal information. If we are not able to give you access, we will inform you of our decision and the reasons for that decision in writing.
